David brought his artistic flair and quality workmanship to two of John McGrath’s residences over a one year span. David has been the mastermind behind the snaptex wall panelling projects on both of the apartments of John McGrath’s. The first time the job was initiated through designers however when John moved premises he used project managers and requested David do the entire wall panelling of his apartment. With great pleasure David undertook the project and the results were magnificent. The joinery was custom made incorporating the living space such as cupboards, bedheads; light switches to produce a flawless finish.
Margarita Sampson-Zsa- Zsa Chair
Margarita Sampson works predominantly in soft sculpture & contemporary jewellery. Her work is strongly influenced by her Norfolk Island background, referencing natural forms, patterns & textures, in particular underwater life forms. Margarita approached David to assist her to apply her design to the frame. The design and sewing was done by Margie. David could see where Margie wanted to go with the design and helped her to achieve her creative masterpiece which is in the finals competing for the Waterhouse Prize at the South Australian Museum.
As Margie put it:
” i had to find just the right upholsterer to work on such an unusual project, one who could bring their own skills and imagination to the table. It was a pleasure to work with David, and I\’d bring future work to him without any hesitation. He is meticulous, inventive and he has a real passion for his work. I was delighted by the final result and look forward to future collaborations.”
